Barnegat Light's LongLiners

We purchase from 5 longliners here in Barnegat Light. Our boats are involved in the tuna/ swordfish fisheries, as well as, the golden tilefish fishery.

SEA FARMER is a very versatile boat that works in the longline, monk and tile fisheries during the course of the year. Owned by Mike Johnson & skippered by Jimmy Cahill, this 46' fiberglass vessel was built at Wesmac and finished by Fernandez Custom Boats in Maine in 2005.

ALEXANDRIA DAWN is a steel longliner owned by Bob Brewster. This vessel participates in the tuna/ swordfish and tilefish fisheries. ALEXANDRIA DAWN has called Viking Village home for quite some time and will frequently travel south in the winter time to continue production.

EAGLET II is a 63' steel longline boat built at Blount Marine in Rhode Island in 1973. Purchased by Capts. John Larson and Lou Puskas it was named the Marion Frances and fished out of Viking Village dock for well over 2 decades she was bought by Bob Brewster in 2001 and renamed Eaglet II. Currently the Eaglet II is ran by Paul Puskas and owned by his son Logan.

FRANCES ANNE is a 67' steel longliner ran by Capt. Rick Mears, she was built in 1979. Her homeport is Lighthouse Marina right down the road. This vessel was featured on Discovery Channel's Swords: Life on the Line.

MONICA is 64' steel longliner ran by Captain Dan Mears Jr. The MONICA was built by Eastern Marine, Inc. in 1978. This Mears boat is out of Lighthouse Marina but provides Viking Village's customers with top quality tuna, swordfish, tilefish and monkfish.
