Twenty five years of cooperative industry and government management have resulted in unprecedented sea scallop landings in recent years. The scallopers fishing from Viking Village, as well as dock management have been intimately involved in the management process. It's interesting to note that these results have been obtained even as the endangered sea turtle bycatch has been eliminated due in part to to the voluntary addition of turtle chains on all Viking Village scallop dredges.
